Novato Fiesta 2K17: The freshers’ party of KCHR

The Audience!!

The previous odd semester was busy with all the department freshers but now the freshers of the Kalpana Chawla Hall of Residence was around the corner. It was scheduled to span for six days between 17th and 22nd of February, and what a week it was ! Consisting of a plethora of events like Craftomaniac, in which the first years left no stone unturned in showcasing their creativity, Take that selfie, in which the participants had to rush up and down all four floors of the hostel building to get the required selfie clicked, Maggi making, Hairstyling, Fashion designing, in which they had to design couture from newspapers and the much popular Product Advertisement. The newbies left the audience in awe with their talent in Singing and Dance competitions as well. The series of good performances by the new KCHRites was the talk of the town.


The main cultural event held on the 22nd of February did justice to the preceding five days. The event management was done by Eventskart and so the hostel was garlanded with fairy lights and decorated with rows of balloons, the stage was set and so was the mood for the themed night of Bollywood dreams. And so Novato Fiesta, 2k17 begun ! The first half of the event was hosted by Miss Subhrasmita Praharaj and Miss Richie Mishra of the 3rd year, for the next half the mic was handed over to Miss Manaswini Das, Miss Sradha Nayak and Miss Nancy Purty of 2nd year. The occassion was graced by Professor (Mrs) M.Srivalli. There wasn’t a dull moment in the evening as the first years continued to entertain the audience with their dance moves and musical performances. The “Fab 6”, CSE 1st years gave an amazing start to the event with their graceful moves. Portraying the ‘Khichdi’ series, the much loved act by Sradha, Arpita (2nd year) and Anjali(1st year) had the audience in splits. The 2nd year group dance and the act by Sradha, Sushmita (2nd year) and Aishwarya (1st year) meant as an inside joke for all KCHRites was no less amusing. The winning participants of all events and the special mentions were felicitated by Prof. M. Srivalli madam. Miss Aishwarya Das of IT department was crowned Miss Freshers. The vote of Thanks was presented by Miss Nimisha Acharya who thanked the participants, Eventskart, the organising team for their appreciable efforts to make the event a success and last but not the least, the Nanis for the continuous support. The evening ended on a good note with the feast and of course the much awaited DJ! This provided a much needed break to the girls and set the mood for Xtasy 2k17!!
