Interviewed : The Time and Lives of Brats, Brains and Brave-hearts!!!

By: Team PenTastic
Interviews by Anshuman Ray and Sourav Soumyajit

They entered the gates of their alma mater, uncertain about their future.  Things haven't changed much. No one can tell what life has in it's store for them. But the boy who entered these gates, left as a man who braved many odds, fighting the good fight. Here is a glimpse of those times, which would definitely make them walk down the memory lane, again!!

BIDIT MOHANTY:

The "zinda-dil" of mechanical, who can floor anyone with his zeal and enthusiasm (more easily with his muscles) is one of the people who played a pivotal role in making quizzing more than exciting in this year's Xtasy and Perception.

BEST MOMENT IN CET:

The best moment in CET was the first year freshers when i became the chocolate boy and Mr. Fresher!! The other great moments were organizing picnics and the the various quizzing events in the college fests. Apart from that, each and every moment spent with friends is memorable!!

WORST MOMENT IN CET:

The worst moment when i lost two of my closest friends which was the worst day of my life.

LIFE AFTER CET:

I am looking forward to join Maruti Suzuki for my first job. After gaining work experience, i may either prepare for CAT or Civil Services.

TIPS FOR JUNIORS:

Be very focused as you wont get the same opportunities again. Think out of the box and experiment. Enjoy college life as these four years are not gonna come back. Work hard, Party harder!!

GAURAV SHARMA

Undoubtedly the tallest guy standing in CET, this guy stands tall in every aspect. Be it working as a Placement coordinator, or as one of the organisers in the core team of the college fests or contributing to the overall growth and goodwill of the college, his work is nothing short of inspiring.

BEST MOMENT IN CET:

Best moment was when the TCS results were out, 216 students were placed. Some had happy tears, some were relaxed, some were jumping in joy!!

WORST MOMENT IN CET:

No moment has been worst, there are certain incidents which i want to forget such as my first fight with a very close friend, a clash with a senior. The college days are a storehouse of experiences!

LIFE AFTER CET:

Life after CET is uncertain. I will be joining Mu-Sigma for my first job. Hoping for the best!!

TIPS FOR JUNIORS:

Enjoy these days to the fullest and stay focused in whatever you do and do everything with a positive spirit

SUJAN MISHRA

The Mr IT of CET,  the "Main Toka" of IT!! The guy with the game and a voice that will definitely sway you away.

BEST MOMENT IN CET:

I still vividly remember the fresher's party organized for our juniors!!! when we finally got to see the unity of our batch. Second year was very memorable and exciting. This year's engineers cup would definitely top the list!

WORST MOMENT AT CET:

No moment is particularly worse. Except for a few when we had a tiff with our immediate seniors which turned out to be kind of gruesome. Also the vivas of a particular department which never went well due to unknown reasons!

LIFE AFTER CET:

Well i have thought of doing a lot of things. You know it kind of gets to you that you can do a lot of things when engineering comes to an end but particularly i want to go into sports goods management marketing and then maybe open an NGO if possible. Currently i will be pursuing management at XIMB.

TIPS FOR JUNIORS:

You guys are doing great. Just keep every option open and stay relaxed. Everything else will fall into place.

SOURAV SUMAN

The guy who shows a lot of dedication and commitment to his work. Be it placement cell or cricket ground, hard work always pays and he is a great example.

BEST MOMENT AT CET:

Each and every moment in college is prized. When i got placed in TCS and when i lifted the engineer's cup, those were really fulfilling times. It felt really great in finals when i took 4 wickets in 3 overs and conceded only 10 runs.

WORST MOMENT AT CET:

No moment in particular. Every moment taught me something. I had my friends who supported me through my worst moments.

LIFE AFTER CET:

I have always wanted to work in a core company. I am trying my best in that direction and i am also planning to pursue my masters from a reputed institute like NIFT, Bangalore and follow my passion.

TIPS FOR JUNIORS:

Follow your heart and chase your passion. If you have dreamt of something, give your best. Every one should follow  Pradhan sir's advices as he is the PIC of Placements and one can learn a lot from his experiences.

PRATIK PARIDA

This guy scorches the ramp like no other. College  is the place where u spent the best days of your life and it was quite evident when we asked about his time in CET.

BEST MOMENT IN CET:

There are so many wonderful memories, i can't choose just one best moment. But i think i had my best moments when i passed my time in the canteen with all my friends by bunking classes for hours and having fun.

WORST MOMENT IN CET:

I lost my two good friends recently which was very shattering.

LIFE AFTER CET:

I will be doing my MBA from XIMB in either marketing or operations leading me into a years of adventurous life which would be competitive as well fun!!

TIPS FOR JUNIORS:

CET is the most important phase of my life as there is no time like the time of your college life. So i will miss it most. I will suggest my juniors to cherish all these moments in these four years of the B.Tech life. Enjoy them as well as study hard. After all that's what we engineers do. Have a perfect goal set for the future and carry on in that direction without deviating from the path.

AADIT PATTNAIK

An instinctive goalkeeper, he saves the ball, he catches them all. College has been a roller - coaster ride for him which gave a whole new meaning to life.

BEST MOMENT IN CET:

There were many, but the best would probably be the semifinal victory in the 2013 engineer's cup when i saved two penalties in front of 200 odd college students and the next moment i was thrown in the air

WORST MOMENT IN CET:

When i became the centre of ire of a few senior faculty members due to reasons not justifiable and they took it upon themselves to make things difficult for me. Yes, i broke down. But thanks to them i emerged stronger . I would like to thank them for being the harbingers of change in me.

LIFE AFTER CET:

Life after cet  would be one without tiny little moments in a forest filled campus that made my day with a separate charm!! I will be pursuing a MBA degree which is the life i am looking forward to...but this life...these four years where one makes friends worth dying for isn't one i am ready to leave yet!!

TIPS FOR JUNIORS:

3 years and 8 months like me u will spend your time cursing this college for everything wrong in your life. But the last four months is the time when everything starts panning out. You realize, while despite all the chinks in it's armoury, this college is like mother-like to you!! It teaches you in ways you can't imagine. I would ask all of you to enjoy these four years and learn from the institution - not just the subjects but everything else surrounding it. And wish you all the luck for all future endeavors junies!!

TARASHISH MISHRA

The "google guy" -  as he is fondly referred around the campus. An inspiration for many, an ardent Game of Thrones fan, this guy is as cool as he gets.

BEST MOMENT IN CET:

I have innumerable happy memories in CET. Can't really single out any one as the best. But if i were to narrow it down to a few, all time spent at zairza,  the first semester days(my only semester staying at hostel) and the hangouts during the final semester. On second thought, the farewell night was probably the best, because our whole branch was together as one united branch after a long time. Made me realize how lucky i am to have such amazing bunch of friends!!

WORST MOMENT IN CET:

Well, these past 4 years have been a total roller coaster ride; lots of ups and downs. There are events, times and people i would like to forget ever happened. But that's how life is. Sometimes it gives you lemons, you gotta make lemonade and move on!!

LIFE AFTER CET:

Life after CET won't be the same; that's for sure. I will really miss my college days. As far as my future plans are concerned, i am not so sure yet. I will be participating in Google Summer of Code one last time for the next 3 months. Hopefully this will give me enough time to weigh my options. but the endgame remains the same. I want to travel the world and see all of it!!

TIPS FOR JUNIORS:

Enjoy your time at CET. These four years are not gonna come back. Treasure people who make you happy. Let go of the ones holding you back. There is no shame in that. Beleive in yourself and follow your heart. When you put hard work and passion into something, no one can stop you from succeeding. May the force be with you!!

SHAKTI SAHANI:

The NSS Secretary opens up about his time in CET.......
BEST MOMENT IN CET:

When i got my first job, that was the best moment!!

WORST MOMENT IN CET:

Worst moment will be when i leave CET.

LIFE AFTER CET:

I want to give my best wherever i go, no matter what!!

TIPS FOR JUNIORS:

Don't worry for jobs. All CETians have the potential to get it, try to focus on GATE or CAT or any other career option.
