Holidays are here and I am completely getting bored at home....when one returns home from hostel for a long holiday ...i guess thats the scenario....you get hell bored....So in my boredom I digged up old albums and photos from cupboards..and  when my afternoon turned into evening I did not realize. I was so engrossed in going through the photographs and there were so many of them...of me..of my brothers and other escapades and moments...

It literally took me to another time....I  was filled with glee. Each photo had a story to tell and I was all ears...As i was browsing through the pictures it made me think that photos were so enthralling and exciting business  some 10 to 15 years back. Now in the time of DSLR"S and Adobe photoshop,I dont think that thrill is there. The basic purpose of clicking a picture has vanished..We are not interested to create memories but to look perfrect at that moment so that we can flaunt it in facebook and other social networks. We want more likes, more praises..isnt it...

I remember we had a kodak camera at our home when I was a little kid and my bhaiya used to buy reels to click pictures. There used to be just one shot and not 100's of them because you could not see them. so good shot or bad shot one had to adjust with it....and they used tobe send to the studiofor developement....My brother used to bring the photos from the shop and i would jump on him the moment he entered the house to have a glance at them...I used to be advised not to hold them by edges or in wet hands as it would damage the pictures and I would happikly comply..One by one the photos used to transferred to albums carefully lest any harm may come upon it....

Social networks have robbed the photos of their soul and very purpose of existence...We dont capture moments anymore..we tweak them , bend them and try to perfectly manicure them..everyone is obsessed with how are they looking... these pictures will never have the dignity that our old albums have...

These old albums used to be  topic of discussions during holidays and other free time...we are missing on all this....we are doing photographs wrong...the next generation will never feel the way i felt seeing the albums..they will never know the nostalgia...The happiness of holding hard copies of pictures, the faded pics which represents the time passed, the ragged edges which will make you hold it more delicately....

If we had to start our own photo albums where we would not be worrying about anyone seeing them....i wonder how they would be...if the only purpose of those pictures would be to preserve a moment so that we can go back and revisit them...I think you all should also think ...what say folks....
