DURATION: 153 MINUTES

LANGUAGE: HINDI

An International criminal steals the Kohinoor and brings the world to a standstill. A bank receptionist dreams of romantic detours and fun filled adventures. when their worlds meet, its a bang bang!

Dreaded criminal Omar Zafar(Danny Denzongpa) breaks free from the british intelligence agency MI6 along with his close aide Hamid Gul(Javed Jaffery) murdering Indian army officer Viren Nanda(Jimmy Shergill). Enter Rajveer Nanda(Hrithik Roshan), the guy with the guile and the game(and also the girl later in the movie), steals the kohinoor desperately craved by the bad guys. Harleen(Katrina Kaif), the dreamy eyed girl working in the bank gets caught up in this mess when in reality life was taking a audacious turn.

The movie is an official remake of the Tom Cruise starrer Knight and Day. Did i say remake? let me rephrase that. The movie is an official copy with a touch of indian sensibilities. The dialogs are a rough translation of the english versions. Some scenes are even lifted, frame by frame. Its understandable that action movies are not inherent to indian cinema. But one could at least expect some room for originality and improvisation. The only thing that added up were a emotional back story which every action movie in an indian context always has. And if someone goes to watch an out and out action flick one expects blasts. Real blasts. Not some VFX-green screen generated images which makes it look more unrealistic. The bang becomes a dud at places.

The lead pair looked absolutely stunning. Hrithik Roshan did what he does best. Dance his way out. This is entirely his movie and the dance sequence are absolutely remarkable. Even the abs-show was a fab-show. He lits up the screen with his charismatic presence. Katrina Kaif looks lovely with more screen space and dialogs. The other actors manage to pull off their parts. Music and background score is superb courtesy Vishal-Shekhar and Salim-Sulaiman. The director Siddharth Anand tries and tries real hard to make it look like a classy flick.. He adds upto a list of film-makers who think they can take a leaf out of some hollywood filmmaker’s book and shine likewise. But it just doesn't work out that way.
But the movie would make a good one time watch if u havent seen Knight and Day.

Watch it if u are a Hrithik Roshan fan and cause he is in great form.
So are u ready to go. Its a yes or a no?. Pull the trigger and go……..

  1. Katrina was sexy in the movie. And.. That's it. Screen space doesn't guarantee good acting. She was listless in her role. Overacting being her specialty.
Hrithik though not phenomenal, was better than good.
    Supporting cast was unconvincing.
And some action scenes were largely disappointing. Because of extensive use of VFX, low quality, at that.
Anyhoo, looking forward to the review of Haider.
